Hi guys! We were rained out earlier this week from what was going to be a very exciting team building zip line adventure, but thankfully the good folks at Whitewater Express were kind enough to let us come crash their awesome shop. We caught up with a barefoot Ivey, because they’re so kind in fact, that if you don’t wear the right shoes for your activity, they will literally give you the shoes off their own feet! Here’s what Ivey had to say!
1. What’s special about White Water Express?
Whitewater Express here in Columbus Georgia is exceptionally special because we are the longest urban whitewater in the world and have been stated as one of the top 12 greatest man made adventures in the world by USA Today! We provide such a unique experience for this area and speaking as a local its been so encouraging and exciting to see the growth of our city through this attraction!
2. What do you love most about being a part of Uptown?
The community. Uptown Columbus has been so committed to bringing this diverse community together by providing us with so many different options from music and concerts, Friday night events, to food, and different ways off exploring and experiencing the city!
3. What’s coming up next for your business?
We are super excited to have just introduced our new fall zipline adventure trip called The Flight of The Night Owl! This trip allows our customers to zip our full adventure tour during the night which adds a whole new thrill out there on our lines for the customer! The trip starts at 7:30 pm and includes our 7 zips and our treetop canopy tour.
4. Favorite meal in the city?
Personally, my favorite meal is the Filet Mignon with white cheddar grits and sauteed broccoli from The Loft ( @theloftcolumbus ) on Broadway. I also recommend trying their buffalo chicken dip as an appetizer. They have excellent food at such reasonable prices and the atmosphere makes this restaurant even more enjoyable!
There are so many beautiful homes surrounding our historic district it’s almost hard to choose one but growing up I always loved getting to drive past and see The Wynn House ( @wynnhouse ) . It’s such a beautifully well kept 19th century historical home that is opened to the public for renting and events.
