Our Business of the Week, Midland Ghost Pepper Sauce, is such an incredible contribution to the fabric of our community. We caught up with the owner, David Lemieux to get the scoop on everyone’s favorite hot sauce!
1. What’s special about Midland Ghost?
Back in 2017, our family took our homegrown sauce on the road to the UGA Flavor of Georgia competition. Our son Henry pitched the Midland Ghost white pepper sauce to the judges and won Sauce of the Year. We think that’s pretty special!
2. What’s the story behind the name?
The name Midland Ghost was inspired by our beautiful mascot, “Ghost”, one of the Midland foxhounds. All of the hounds hold a special place in my heart due to the sport we share, though one Hound in particular.
3. What’s coming up for Midland Ghost?
Coming up, we plan on continuing to share our Georgia grown products and continue to be developed by our friends and the local support of the Chattahoochee Valley. We attribute much of our success to our community and our ability to tap into many new markets. We’re currently retailing in specialty shops in over twenty different states.
4. What’s your favorite meal in town?
Our favorite meal is located at our dinner table in Midland, Georgia. However, we’re very excited for local Midland Ghost partnerships at some great Columbus restaurants such as @jarfly and @11thandbay .
5. Favorite home in the city?
The Cedars House in Wynnton often comes to mind as a favorite home and design in Columbus.
